Each year the Bosch group purchases materials, parts and services valued at 24 thousand million euros from third parties and transports some 4 thousand three hundred million tons. We are talking about 291 production centres located around the world, which employ 22,000 professionals dedicated to the administration of the supply chain.
The importance of teamwork
Despite the impressive figures, people are always first with us. Are we talking about two different teams? One the supplier and the other Bosch? That is secondary for us. We share a common base which is our trust, and a common goal which is to strengthen Bosch in the world markets. If Bosch is successful, you as a supplier are successful.
Our Corporative Purchases management (CP) has established goals based on the necessity of incorporating market technologies into the costs that our clients are willing to pay, by means of:
- Continuing improvement in the costs of our supplies
- Guaranteeing the supplies of raw materials
- Worldwide development of the chain of supply in accordance with our BPS tool: Bosch Production System
- Consolidating the restructuring of Purchases of Indirect Materials and Services through the IBT (International Bundling Team) to achieve the planned savings
- Introducing standard processes in Purchases and Logistics
- Boosting our supplies in the LCC markets
- Improving the “quality of supplies” on a corporate level
- Broadening the concept of “development of suppliers” to the different divisions of the Group
- Integrating preferred suppliers through continuous training activities at Bosch
